Island Arks Symposium II
The Island Arks Symposium is a high profile National event that is expected to draw significant International attention.
The Symposium is a unique opportunity for sponsors to be part of the long-term sustainability of Australia’s irreplaceable islands and the industries they support. There are numerous and varied opportunities for recognition of that contribution.
If you are an industry leader in island management this is an unrivalled opportunity to stake that claim.
A big thank you to all who attended the island Arks Symposium II; delegates, presenters, invited speakers, our sponsor Chevron Australia, and organisers.
The Island Arks Symposium II has now concluded. Delegates heard from over 50 presenters from Australia and from our colleagues working on islands in south-east Asia and the pacific region. The enthusiasm, passion and dedication of all those who attended the symposium ensured that it was a wonderful success. The Island Arks Symposium continues to be Australia’s premier forum for island management.
The next island Arks Symposium will be held in Tasmania. Please check back here for details as they become available.
Many of the presentations from the Island Arks Symposium II will be made available on this website shortly. Please check back here soon
Why Attend?
Sustainable use of island ecosystems requires strong inter-disciplinary knowledge bases including terrestrial and marine ecology, coastal engineering, fire ecology, invasive species management, waste management, communication and marketing, and environmental economics.
The Island Arks Symposium will bring together practitioners in these disciplines to identify, discuss and resolve management challenges; identifying pathways for long-term conservation of island ecosystems including sustainable use.
