Traditional Owners caring for island Country

The Australian Islands Alliance acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Australia's islands, lands and Sea Country. We recognise their enduring cultural connections and the knowledge, responsibilities and practices that have cared for island Country over countless generations.

We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise the continuing leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in caring for Country.
