Welcome to the new Australian Islands Alliance website—a national platform dedicated to connecting people, organisations and communities working to conserve and care for Australia’s remarkable islands.

The website provides a place to share knowledge, showcase island conservation initiatives, strengthen collaboration and promote the ecological, cultural and community values of Australia’s offshore islands. As the Alliance continues to grow, this site will serve as a hub for news, projects, resources, events and opportunities to connect with the wider island community.

Seeking papers for Special Issue in the journal Wildlife Research

Papers are invited from authors who present at the Island Arks Symposium IX in Norfolk Island in 2026. We invite papers covering the following themes (aligned to the Symposium themes):

• Practical advances in climate adaptation/resilience

• Indigenous stewards managing land and sea

• Innovation in conservation and invasive species management (and learning from 'failures')

• Community initiatives and citizen science

• Drivers of restoration and translocation success

• The marine environment in an island context

• Working together: cross sector partnerships and governance

• Sustainable finance and development, including eco-tourism
